Thailand jails man for 35 years for Facebook posts that insulted its royal family A 33 year-old man in Thailand has been senteced to 35 years in jail for violating the country's strict laws related to criticism of the royal family. The man was initially facing 70 years for posting 10 photos, videos and comments on social media, but this sentence was reduced. - Tech Crunch

Puerto Rico goes to the polls for statehood This Sunday, Puerto Ricans will take to the polls to decide the island's political status. Voters will have three choices on the ballot: statehood, their current territorial status or independence. FDA requests removal of Opana ER for risks related to abuse 
As the U.S. battles a growing opioid abuse crisis, the FDA has asked Endo International to withdraw its long-lasting opioid painkiller, Opana ER, from the market. Endo shares plunged 14% AH on the news. It comes after a panel of advisers concluded in March that the drug's benefits did not outweigh the risks - opioids were involved in more than 33,000 deaths in 2015. - Seeking Alpha
