Message Startup Slack Said to Draw Interest From Amazon.com Bloomberg sources state that the multiple technology companies, including Amazon, are interested in a potential takeover of the corporate chatroom startup Slack. If a deal occurs, it is expected that Slack would be valued at around $9 billion.   - Bloomberg

5 Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter in Flint Water Crisis Five officials in Michigan, including the head of the state’s health department, were charged involuntary manslaughter on Wednesday in relations to the Flint water crisis. Major bitcoin exchanges hit by cyberattacks as record rally makes them a target A number of centralized bitcoin exchanges have been hit with 'denial-of-service' attacks as the increase in the price of bitcoin has made them a target. The DDoS attacks are intended to paralyze a system with a flood of information, but these attacks do not affect client funds. The decentralized blockchain, which is the technology bitcoin exists on, is still at this point theoretically impenetrable.   - CNBC

AIG teams with IBM to use blockchain for 'smart' insurance policy AIG and IBM have partnered to develop a smart contract that exists on the blockchain for insurance policy use. The two companies created the first of its kind pilot contract for Standard Chartered Bank PLC which uses blockchain to allow for real-time sharing of information for a main policy written in the United Kingdom, where the bank is headquartered, and three other local policies in the United States, Singapore and Kenya.   - Reuters

U.S. regulators might block the merger of FanDuel and DraftKings According to sources familiar with the matter, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission is raising flags in regards to the proposed merger of FanDuel and DraftKings due to concerns of competition.   - Recode

Qatar Signs $12 Billion Deal for U.S. F-15 Jets Amid Gulf Crisis Qatar will soon ink a deal to purchase up to 36 F-15 jets from the United States. This deal comes at a tense time as a Saudi-led coalition has moved to isolate Qatar for its alleged support of terrorism.   - Bloomberg
